1.) The St. Louis media saying that the Mets first no hitter in
history should have an asterisk is hypocritical, this is all due to what was
seen as a blown call when Carlos Beltran’s ball was called foul, this was after
it hit the line and a lot of chalk came up.
Now while some may say this no hitter should not count, the media in St.
Louis, the St. Louis Dispatch in particular, should not have put that asterisk next
to the no hitter in the paper after the no hitter. They would have never done that for Mark
McGwire, so don’t do it for someone else, a blown call is not as bad as use of
steroids and HGH, because kids are not going to look at the umpire and think
they can blow calls. Kids look up to
players, like I did to Mark McGwire, but when I found out that he allegedly
used steroids I stopped being a fan, this move by the Dispatch confused me.
2.) I am starting to think Tebow was not just brought in to run
a wild cat offense, but also to take the pressure off of Mark Sanchez. Sanchez had an awful year last season, 26
turnovers, and led the Jets to a 8-8 season.
We all know Tebow’s story, but he
cannot throw the ball so well, and Tebow brings the media circus to town
to see him, which takes all eyes off of Sanchez. I remember when Tebow threw 2 interceptions
in a practice with the Jets how the media was talking about it as soon as it
happened. This goes well for Sanchez,
because now he can focus on this upcoming season without the New York media
breathing down his neck.
3.) LeBron cannot be blamed for the Heat’s struggles the past
two games in the Eastern Conference Finals, he has been playing well, it is
Dwayne Wade that cannot close the deal right now. Even though LeBron is an all-star and should
be clutch, I have had it with people blaming him, yes he has come up short in
big moments in big games but Wade needs to step it up. That being said I think the Heat will win
this series, that is if Wade can catch fire and play like he did against the
Pacers.
4.) Terrell Owens is struggling to find a home, I am not sure if
he will ever land a deal, especially after being released by an indoor football
league, which is pretty sad considering T.O.’s body of work. Then again he cannot stay out of trouble,
because it seems that every team he goes to he decides to create issues, this
is just another one on that list. The
only team I think I could see taking him would be the Miami Dolphins, they are
on hard knocks, and he would make some great T.V. for them. Otherwise I am not sure if he will go anywhere
else, I was thinking Jacksonville until I saw that Blackmon had a DUI arrest,
so having T.O. around would not be of benefit to him.
